DIARY BY: Chahatpreet Sarao,24th October,2013

Near about at 9pm we got up, took breakfast and got ready for a visit to Nehru Planetarium, Doll Museum and Akshardham Temple, New Delhi. As our tickets were reserved, we entered the Planetarium. We saw a short documentary on our planet Earth. From that documentary, we got to know some new things about our planet. Then we proceeded to Doll Museum. Our German friends were very happy to see the dolls of different regions over there. There were hundreds of dolls in the museum. At last, we left for our final destination of the day i.e. Akshardham Temple. It epitomizes Indian culture in all breathtaking grandeur and beauty. It reflects Indian ancient art, traditions and so many spiritual messages. We saw short documentaries based on Indian culture and Hindu Mythology. The fountain show was just amazing, speechless!! After the dinner at Akshardham Temple, we returned back to the youth hostel and slept for dreams.

After tiring journey from Agra to Delhi, we were still ready to enjoy each moment of joy. After the breakfast, we moved to Nehru Planetarium. It is situated on the grounds of Teen Murti Bhavan, New Delhi. The major attraction of this place was its Sky Theater. It was a dome shaped theatre. We got information about the planets. We all were excited to see all of this. After spending time in Nehru Planetarium, we went to Doll Museum. It is one of the most renowned museums in New Delhi which has huge collections of dolls from across the globe. We were amazed to see that each doll was handcrafted after meticulous research into physical attributes, dresses and jewelry of individual characters from various countries of the world. There was a special display of a representative collection of over 150 dolls in Indian costumes. Moving to our last destination of the day, we arrived Akshardhan, which is a Hindu Temple. There we also saw theatre which showed a film specially commissioned for the complex, Neelkanth Yatra to recount a seven year pilgrimage made by Swaminarayan during his teenage years throughout India. Germans were amazed to see the art of Indians. The most fascinating was the fountain show in which the water from the fountains was released with music related to Hindu mythology. After having our dinner at Akshardham, we finally left for our Youth Hostel.
